The Forgefix Phillips single-thread Drywall Screws feature a black phosphate finish, providing enhanced durability. Supplied in boxes of 500 and 1,000, they are accompanied by a Phillips No.2 insert bit. The screws are designed with a Bugle Head, enabling them to effortlessly sink into dry lining without the need for countersinking, thus minimising surface damage.

Phosphate coatings consist of thin, crystalline layers of phosphate compounds that bond to the surface of the fastener. These porous crystals, typically derived from zinc, manganese, or iron phosphate solutions, provide excellent corrosion resistance. Additionally, phosphate coatings effectively absorb supplementary finishes, enhancing the appearance, durability, and resistance to abrasion.

The Phillips screw head features four tapered slots, allowing the screwdriver to apply increasing torque as the screw is turned. Should the applied torque exceed the screwdriver’s capacity, the tip disengages from the screw, preventing over-tightening and damage to the screw head.

Coarse thread screws, such as drywall screws, are equipped with an ultra-sharp point that easily penetrates the plasterboard and facilitates secure fixing to both the board and timber battens.
