These Forgefix Phillips twin fine-thread Drywall Screws feature a zinc-plated finish, enhancing durability and corrosion resistance. Supplied with a Phillips No.2 insert bit, the screws are designed with a Bugle Head, which allows them to sink seamlessly into dry lining without the need for countersinking, thus reducing surface damage.

Zinc coatings protect the metal by forming a barrier that prevents oxidation, ensuring a longer-lasting finish. In the event of damage to the coating, the zinc acts as a sacrificial anode, offering additional protection. Zinc oxide, a fine white dust that forms during oxidation, does not degrade the substrate’s surface integrity, unlike iron oxide. When left intact, zinc oxide serves as a further protective layer, much like the oxide coatings that shield aluminium and stainless steel from corrosion.

The Phillips screw features four tapered slots, designed to increase torque as the screw is turned. Should the torque exceed the screw’s limit, the screwdriver tip disengages, preventing over-tightening and potential damage to the screw head.

Fine-thread screws are equipped with a sharp point that not only punctures the plasterboard but also enables the screw to drill through thin steel structures.
