The Forgefix Phillips fine-thread, wafer head Drywall Screws are zinc-plated for enhanced durability and come complete with a Phillips No.2 insert bit. These screws feature a self-drilling hardened point, designed for attaching dry linings to steel frameworks without the need for pilot holes.

Zinc Coating Benefits:
The zinc coating helps prevent oxidation of the metal, ensuring a longer-lasting finish. It forms a protective barrier and acts as a sacrificial anode if the barrier is damaged. Unlike iron oxide, zinc oxide—formed during oxidation—does not compromise the substrate’s surface integrity. Left intact, this zinc oxide layer acts as an additional barrier against further corrosion, similar to the protective oxide layers found on aluminium and stainless steel. Zinc plating is a cost-effective, electroplated coating commonly applied to ferrous components, offering excellent corrosion resistance, an attractive finish, and effective performance as a primer for paints requiring high corrosion protection.

Phillips Screw Design:
The Phillips screw features four tapered slots, allowing the driver to apply increasing torque. When excessive torque is reached, the screwdriver tip disengages from the screw, preventing over-tightening and protecting the screw head from damage.

Wafer Head Design:
The wafer head spreads the load beneath the screw head, providing a firm and secure fixing, much like a washer.

Fine Threaded Screws:
The fine-thread screws are equipped with a sharp point, designed to easily penetrate the plasterboard surface and drill through thin steel structures, ensuring a strong and reliable fix.
